Rustam Minnikhanov approves the transfer of environmental fines to local budgets

On July 16, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Hero of Labour of Russia Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin and members of the regional government took part in the eleventh meeting of the regional State Council held by Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin.

During the meeting, First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan, Chief State Inspector for Environmental Protection of the republic Fayaz Shakirov presented a draft law on amendments to the Budget Code of the republic, which envisages that 100 per cent of environmental fines to be transferred to local budgets.

Rustam Minnikhanov supported this initiative and instructed to ensure transparent control over the spending of these funds.

According to Tatarstan President, penalties should be "painted" and go exclusively to solving environmental problems at the local level.

People's deputies adopted amendments to the Budget Code of the republic.
